Rules for the Game
This site reflects Rules for the Game of Living. It contains a collection of over 30 years worth of articles, pictures, diagrams, jokes and other materials reflecting the humor and pragmatic realities of humans living out life. Some entries are funny, others sad and a few are just "strange". New ones are always being found, created and are welcomed for consideration to be included here. (Just submit by "Posting a Comment" to any existing entry). The common theme, or criteria, is that all entries need to contain a perspective, an aspect of, or, an insight into the realities of human beings, nature, and life in general. (The basic qualification for an item to be added to this site is that is there is at least a little bit of pragmatic TRUTH contained within it.) THANK YOU for visiting RULES FOR THE GAME and ENJOY! (Note: You can also group 'Rules' entries by types and themes by clicking on a word in "Tags" or on one of the "Categories". This capability is available at the 'main index page' - just select the related 'link', located at the bottom of each indivdual entry page.)

I have not personally had the opportunity to go there, however, based upon their remarks I hope I get a chance to, some day.)

“(May I add, the Canary Islands are a fabulous place to visit, and very popular with the British, & I loved Tenerife the most!) More Information about Canary Islands, S.W. of Spain: These 7 islands are the result of a series of Volcanic Eruptions from the sea & are known as "The Fortunate Isles" because of their year-round spring climate. They are known in legend as the "Highest Peaks of the Lost Continent of Atlantis." The Canaries form 2 provinces of Spain: 1). Las Palmas, consisting of the islands of Grand Canary, Lanzarote & Fuerteventura; AND, 2). Santa Cruz de Tenerife, comprising the islands of Tenerife, La Palma, Gomera & Hierro. The native population were the Guanches, a tall, white race, fair-haired & blue-eyed, & leading a mostly pastoral life. They believed in One God, & in the immortality of the soul. At their conquest by Europeans, they used weapons & utensils of wood & stone, wore animal skins & ornaments of bone, baked clay, & sea-shells, & lived in caves. An Aragonese fleet explored the islands in 1330. They were claimed by Portugal in 1341, the year of the region's 1st historical volcanic eruption on Tenerife Island. Islands were awarded to Spain by the Pope in 1333. Jean de Bethencourt, a French nobleman, was sent by the King of Castile, Henry III & conquered (from 1402-1405) the islands of Lanzarote, Gomera, Hierro and Fuerteventura. The conquest of Gran Canaria, Palma, & Tenerife was accomplished during the reign of the Catholic sovereigns from 1478-1495, with lots of Guanches resistance. By 1495, the Islands had fallen to Spanish Rule. The town of Santa Cruz, on La Palma, became a stopping point for Spanish conquerors, traders & missionaries on their way to the New World. These islands are now HUGE Tourist Spots & LOTS OF FUN TO VISIT!!!! (Especially Tenerife Island)”
